Fencing has gone up for the Crystal City Water Park Renovation. The Crystal City Connector will remain open during construction, however there may be times that flaggers will be on site to control traffic. More info at the Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail website at: https://mountvernontrail.org/2022/01/26/crystal-city-water-park-construction-starts/

FoMVT will pass along any project updates as we get them.

The fencing along the path down to the tunnel was encroaching significantly on the trail. It seems someone employed some light lumberjacking .

I witnessed some lumberjacking but it wasn’t me.

The new path has been opened. Still lots of construction going on around the path, including removing the old path. I think the sight lines are much better as you approach the tunnel

Sightlines better, and the grade is less sharp and more consistent. All I could ask for. Good news indeed.
