    [LSG],

Thanks for reaching out. I was forwarded your message about the B.Y.O.C. Club at Crystal City Water Park. It sounds like an awesome event and we are

Unfortunately, Arlington county does not permit mobile vending earlier that 8a. However, I’m happy to coordinate on a private event or to arrange for the bike to get out to be set up and ready to vend at 8a or even a little earlier.

How long does the group typically meet in the mornings?

    Thanks,
    Mike

Looks like people have a good reason to join the 8am crew!

There’s a 20% chance of rain for Crystal City Coffee Club tomorrow. Should it rain, coffee club is still on but the rain location is the covered patio at Cosi at 2011 Crystal Dr. Hope to see everyone there!

I won’t be able to make it tomorrow, but hope to join you all next week (or better yet, Weds. morning at Best Buns)!

Nice meetup today that turned into a very nice group ride, with a stopover at the Navy-Merchant Marine Memorial, where these pics were taken – 2 by ArlingtonRider and one by myself.

Thank you worktheweb for taking us on this lovely route!

Minor nit. Your photos are of the LBJ memorial – Texas granite monolith.

The Navy Merchant Marine Memorial has waves and seagulls.

Where we admired the riverfront view, and read LBJ quotes aloud, e.g. “I hope it may be said a hundred years from now. that by working together we helped to make our country more just for all its people … I believe that at least it will be said that we tried.”

Which we also circled on our way up to 14th St bridge.

    An excellent post-coffee caravan!

I read the map wrong. The fact that we circled two memorials should have clued me in. :p

What…is the air speed velocity of an unladen starling? You are such a birder geek. :)

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who instantly thought this. I can personally attest to LSG’s Dr. Doolittle powers.

Turning in my homework assignment from FFG:
I think the mystery trees growing around the trail side of the CCwater park are River Birch. Trees are harder to identify than birds, had to go back and take a picture of the leaves this afternoon  I’m not confident my answer is correct.
