ParticipantI got one of the Sotto tail lights that they were giving away during BTWW…I haven’t actually used it yet, but it seems to be a pretty nice little package for, you know, free.

ParticipantDang it.. I’ll be driving down to Tybee island on Friday and will miss the light show yet again… Somebody snag me a light! I’ll buy you a beer, or a coffee, or let you have a sip from my whisky flask!

ParticipantThere were four approaching officers when I left the light giveaway around 430. Maybe some NPS and definitely some MWAA folks. Some looked angry. I hope it played out well.

ParticipantI missed the giveaway… by the time I rolled through around 6, it was all closed up. I figured it probably would be.
Anyone know what happened with the officers that came by at 430 americancyclo mentioned above?

I went through about 4:25 and saw all the officers. They seemed ok when I got there. Each officer had a light in hand.

ParticipantI think there was a concern about selling anything on NPS land, and then I also heard that they were unhappy with the table from last year, so this year all the goodies were on a handtruck.
Glad it went on for a while and our friend at the CC BID have seemed to figure it out. Maybe next year work on a communication plan with NPS and MWAA to give them a heads-up ahead of time!

ParticipantThe officers were not there long. They got a report of a suspicious man on the trail with boxes. Once they found out what we were doing they were fine. We gave them lights too. Next time I will try not to look so suspicious.
It was a great turnout for the event.

We did talk to US Park Police before the event. The officers were from MWAA, but we exchanged info and we will be sure to give them a heads up next time.

ParticipantAwesome! Thanks for doing this! I really appreciate all the outreach the CC BID has done in the past few years. We had the Freezing Saddles Awards Ceremony in Crystal City last year, maybe y’all can pile on again this year!?
