I prefer to focus most of my attention on the 21st amendment. Though I can see how someone driving in that mess might start thinking about arming themselves.

    We’ve long needed a better Constitution… Avenue.

I’ve been super impressed with how well behaved people are on Constitution. I move at the same speed as everyone else… though I could move faster if I wanted. I honestly have had very good reactions from people because I choose NOT to weave in and out of traffic. I’m happy to sit in line like the rest of the people and I get a lot of happy people that roll down the window to chat. Lots of questions about the bike and a few people who don’t mind sharing how horny they are in a happy, friendly way. For the last few months, life has been peaceful and nice on Constitution Ave.

Now we just need that to extend to Virginia Avenue.

    Love,

    Pete

Wow! What part of Constitution are you on? I cross it every day (at either 20th or 21st) and drivers are HORRID – running red lights, stopped in the crosswalk/intersection, oblivious to the need to look when they start from being stopped in the crosswalk/intersection.

A lot of money could be made by ticketing red light runners on the western end of Constitution.

It depends on the day. At a minimum I ride Constitution in the afternoons between 14th Street and Virginia Avenue… It is really only 4 or 5 blocks, but they are the long DC blocks. Some days I pick up Constitution further east and ride it for about half the length of the Mall.

People turning left at 15th street NW always run the red arrow. That stopped annoying me about 5 years ago. When there’s a lot of difference between our speeds, people behave like spoiled children. If we’re all going the same speed, we all get along fine. :D That’s the difference between Constitution and Virginia Ave.

Someone was exercising their 2nd Amendment rights on Friday:
