ParticipantMy understanding is
Original FCC: Friday @Swing’s 7:30-9am near the White House. People come and go all the time although the numbers swell around 8:30-8:45am. If you arrive at 7:30am you might be the first one there. There is a traditional “rollout” ride at 9:05 or so past the White House.
FCCII: Friday @Java Shack (not sure of time, but I assume it’s around the same)
FCCIII: Friday @Green Lizard cycling, Herndon – usually < 5 people so check on the forum with those who attend (I've never been)
Thursday Coffee Club @ Caffe Amouri, Vienna. From about 7am. not sure how long people stay but I’m usually there only 30mins or so.
Hump Day Coffee Club: Wednesday at Best Buns Shirlington. Again, not sure of exact timing but I assume it’s around the sameFeel free to add / correct. I’ve only been to FCC II and HDCC once or twice. I think jopamora began a MD edition recently.

ParticipantAwesome run-down VVill! Should this be a sticky? And if so, in Commuters or General? What say you all?

ParticipantFCCII: I believe to be 7:30 to 8:30, though people have been known to loiter longer, or arrive earlier. Java Shack opens at 7am.
HDCC: 7am to 8:30am. Since folks have less leverage to arrive late on a Wednesday, it’s a very early arrival.–Pete

Also, do all the coffee clubs happen at the crack of O-Dark-Thirty or do any happen at more…civilized…hours? Because of kids and school the earliest I could possibly make a coffee club would be 8:30-9ish (plus I’m just not a morning person in general). It’s for this reason I’ve never even tried to make it to one. Would anyone be interested in starting a “second shift” at one of the FCCs?
+1! I go to Vienna Thursday CC, but it kills me every time, as it’s the earliest I get up all week (by far). I’d be tempted for HDCC in Shirlington, but as I don’t leave work in Vienna until almost 9:00 pm on Wednesday, I’m not going to a social thing that’s dang early *and* in the opposite direction. If it *started* at 8:30, that would be altogether different!

Hrm, Thursdays would be an awesome ‘Lets “work” from remote day.’ Building management has threatened to require me to work from remote more often.

ParticipantDTSS Coffee Club: Tuesdays 7am at Kaldi’s coffee bar – a little more than a month old now. It sleeps through the night already. I can’t believe how much it has grown already. I will remember to cherish these first moments.

ParticipantOk, I’m going to try this again since I don’t have class this Friday and have a little time to play. I plan to leave from the Ohio St access on the W&OD (mile 4.25) by about 5:45 am this Friday. I will be heading west to arrive at Green Lizard Cycling in Herndon (mile 20) at opening time (7 am) and hope to see some of the FCCIII regulars there for a doppio. Then it’s back on the bike and back down the trail to Java Shack for FCCII and another doppio before heading to the mother of all Friday Coffee Clubs at Swings. The stops will be just short enough for the caffeine infusion, but no socializing. Anybody else crazy enough to join me? Don’t forget you’ll need lights for at least the westbound portion of the ride.

Man that sounds fun, but I’m not sure how this friday is panning out.

ParticipantWell, I’ll probably do it again in early November when all my Fridays will be free.

ParticipantI think the FMCCIII regulars unfortunately arrive at 7:45am. (That would be Steve E et al.).

Rebel coffee’s moving to Hoth, I mean Herndon, on Friday. Rebel scum and the boys in white are both welcome. No Sith or drones, their kind isn’t welcome.

ParticipantHey everyone, Todd here. I met some of the group for the first time this morning in Vienna. I’m a long time DMV cyclist but am new to this commuter route. I’m coming in from Fairfax city and I have to say it was awesome finding a group of regular commuters. I’ve lived in Fairfax City for just over a year now and this years bike to work day was the first time I’ve ever ridden a bike from Fairfax. It gets a bit scary until I get past Oakton so it’s nice to find a group to ride with.
I’ll make it a point to meet up on Thursdays. I think some of the other days may be a bit out of the way for me but then again, I can just leave earlier and get extra mileage in. See you guys out there. -
