I passed by the Columbia Pike entrance to the Holmes Run Trail today to see if it was open yet, but sadly it is not. After going to the next trail access through the Parklawn Pool ramp, I discovered large pipes with water running through them (you could hear it) and a fence that were placed across the trail. Luckily, I was able to pull a cyclocross with my hybrid that had groceries in one rear basket and new cycle gear in the other to get over the pipes and around the end of the fence (warning: annoying thorns are there) to continue on the trail.
The farthest north access point to the Holmes Run Trail without any obstacles is Chambliss Street west of the new bridge. Also, a sign was up saying that the Parklawn pool will be opening as scheduled on May 21.

fencing around the Columbia Pike access point to the Holmes Run Trail (part of the fence is open only because a maintenance pick-up had just passed through when I took the pic)

fence and pipes blocking trail just south of Parklawn Pool (confused guy didn’t see that you COULD walk all the way around the fence)
