    Ann rocks!

The happy hour bar has been raised! Thanks for all your work in bringing off a great event.

The attendees are illustrative of the diversity of cyclists in the area. We clearly represent the entire community.

Sounds like Ann didn’t screw it up. Who knew?

But seriously: thanks, Ann, for stepping up and making this happen.

    Blacknell, you swine.

    Next HH–you–me–Bike Rodeo
Let’s see who can jump bales of hay, race up ramps, slide across the hoods of parked cars, pedal up hills— in high heels and a skirt. Ha. Your recent attempt at a similar course did not go well I seem to recall.

In all seriousness, we had fun, met new people, said hi to Mel Pinto, hung out with Pete.

We covered the spectrum from kids and young families, to urban professionals, and cut across gender and race. Everybody rides bikes.

Ann, you can throw all my birthday parties from now on if you like. Happy hour was awesome. So nice to meet folks and put some faces to screen names. Wish I could have stayed longer, but the ride there and the few minutes I got to talk to people was a great time. We went to Bikenetic on Sunday to get the little one fit for her first helmet!

    Let’s do this again!

ACC, if you do something really well, that means you’ll probably be asked to do it again in the future.

Was super nice to meet your wife, sir…. and meet americancyclo’s daughter. Cool to have families there. My wife enjoyed meeting y’all and thought it was a great way to wind down after a rough work week.

I was way too focused on the 34oz happy hour beer to be snapping photos. There is the snugglebike photo that I took of OneEighth’s bike and mine that I posted up in the sighting post. In theory Ann got a photo of me “saving” her a parking place, though I haven’t seen it. It is likely obscene.

It was even better that she agreed to ride her bike there with me! :D Also great to meet and chat with your wife.

Trust me, you really don’t want me throwing a party. For my last birthday we had to calculate how many tipsy women could safely fit in a moon bounce at one time.

Thanks again to Bike Arlington for the munchies.

Don’t thank us – Ann is the one to thank. I second everyone else’s comments. She did an amazing job putting such a fun event together!

Here are just a few photos from the beginning of the night.

Awesome! Best part was the dude who drove up in his SUV. “Are you saving that parking place?” me: “No. Just taking a quick nap. This seemed like a good enough place.”
