ParticipantIt should go without saying that all spouses, significant others, blind dates, etc are welcome.
Also, lurkers are invited. Anyone who reads these posts, rides a bike, or thinks about riding a bike is welcome.
I can’t think of a better place to come and ask questions about bikes because there will be more than 100 years of experience in the room. And I don’t mean just Dirt.

ParticipantI think I’ve convinced my wife to bike in from near Falls Church pulling our 3 kids in tow. See you there!

ParticipantI’m also in and my wife is considering coming too. Now if I can just get her to ride the just over a mile from Dominion Hills to East Falls Church! Either way, I don’t expect we’ll arrive until between 6:00 and 6:30.

ParticipantSince Ann has been working to so hard to organize this event, I can’t miss it. I will cancel all my meetings and appointments tomorrow for it.
I still haven’t own a lock yet. Hopefully, a bike thief doesn’t read this forum to get the heads up.

Liz, thank you so much. Since my heavy bike is cheap and doesn’t have the quick release levers for wheels, it doesn’t require a fancy lock. We can lock only the frame to your bike.
Now, it got no excuse not to show up.

Participantman i just found out this is happening in my building! I need to bust out my best spandex! I’ll be busy between 5-6pm hopefully I can come by, i’ve been very ill lately and off the bike.
TIP: 1 secret bike rack, if you go into the garage, as soon as you drive in, look to the right, bikes hanging on the wall. the first to the left is empty. It has a beater trunk bike rack hanging on it, you are welcome to use my spot (any bike left overnight I’ll call it mine
).
Also, there is a rear entrance through the garage into the restaurant. The ramp has a rail that can also serve to lock bikes on it, just make sure the bike doesn’t block wheel chair access.
BEER TIP: 34oz during happy hour is around 5 bucks. that’s your best value. for many, one of those is a party.
FOOD TIP: if you haven’t seen the menu, well, check. it’s seafood or chicken fried in form of a tender or wing. that’s it. if you have blood pressure issues, stay away from the “whole shebang” wings. those are some salty wings man..
Any other thoughts, let me know, i can walk downstairs and find out.

ParticipantIf I can get there I also have a long cable in my DC locking kit I can help others with. Not sure I’ll be able to make it though, still up in the air.

ParticipantI have one bit of very cool swag that I will contribute to give to someone at the happy hour. Not sure how to decide who gets it though.

OMG. It could be so many things. A Forever Lazy Suit. Hello Kitty Gear. A matching testicle from the Lance Tribute. A Rock ’em Sock ’em play set. Something pink.

ParticipantSpeaking of Forever Lazy Suits…. I have one to donate to the Happy Hour. I’ll give it to a cyclist who promises to wear it on their commute and has pictures taken and posted on the Bike Forum.

I guess I should specify… since I am who I am… that the swag that I’m bringing is something that a normal human would actually want.
Don’t ask me how I know what a normal human would want… I just do.
