As I was exiting the WOD onto the Bluemont junction about 6:30 last night this bearded guy on a nice looking mud splattered Surly hauler passed me. I wasn’t looking for a race but wanted a better look at his ride so I caught up at a stop light to take a looky loo.

So as the light on Fairfax drive turns green, he’s off! Sucker jumped the gun on me and went flying down the bike lane. Race on! He wins leg one as we pull up to the next red light. This time when the christmas tree went green I was prepared and was able to get off the line and stay in front. It is always fun when you are on a bike and PASSING cars. No round three however. I had to bail before Clarendon to get my exit home.

Ok, his bike did weigh about 30 lbs heavier, but Im probably carrying an extra 30 lbs on my bod, so I consider it a fair race.
