I got a good chuckle out of those signs yesterday on my way home.

Is it just me, or did everyone who went car-free yesterday suddenly decide they HAD to drive today? Traffic was really heavy on my way in. It didn’t help that there are a bunch of people in pink walking around (Is there a breast cancer walk going on today?), but I don’t think that could have accounted for all the extra volume.

The cool thing for me is I forgot all about car free day but went car free anyway just as a normal day.

Amen. I haven’t driven my car since May, 2010. I like that car-free is the norm. I also really like that when I got to Flippin’ Pizza yesterday afternoon at 1530hours, I could see a stack of hundreds of car-free coupons that they’d collected.

I got free pizza, but gave them a $10 tip as a thank you. I do love that place. I’ll be super stoked, and there every week, when they get their beer license back.

The dawn patrol was really light today. I took the long way in which had me on Lee Hwy for a while. I got passed by 3 cars in the 10 minutes I rode on it. People must have gotten a late start… hoping they’d catch the rain and be forced to sit and stare at people’s bumpers ahead of them.
