ParticipantHello BlackIrish, welcome to the forum! I’m sorry you’ve had some frustrating moments with cyclists on the CCT. It’s important that all users of the trail have respect for each other. (Including not making threats against those uninvolved, on the internet after the fact.)
FYI–I’ve edited your post to remove some of the foul language. We try to keep this a family friendly board.
Thanks again for joining and we look forward to you becoming part of the great community of riders here!

ParticipantOh goody, another cyclist vs pedestrian thread. Just in time because Tim closed the last one. This adds whole new dimension that I was just thinking the other one lacked. Actual threats of physical violence, which I am sure, we can agree, are always condusive to furthering the cause of safety. Nicely done BlackIrish.

ParticipantComplaints about cyclists are welcome.
I don’t think complaints that involve threats of violence against cyclists should be tolerated though. This post should be removed.

I agree. The original poster’s last sentence is rather horrifying and a direct threat against other people which seems to go against this forum’s stated guidelines and the general tone of civility we adhere to. I hope it is taken off this site.

But threats of violins are OK, even though I prefer woodwinds.

They shouldn’t be tolerated anywhere. I fear that the original poster may be threatening people in real life on the CCT, unfortunately.
To BlackIrish, yes, some people (cyclists, car drivers AND pedestrians) behave in an unsafe manner on the trails, roads and sidewalks. Doesn’t mean you can be issuing threats at entire groups of people. Contribute to making life better and the D.C. area a more civilized place.

ParticipantBlackIrish removed the threat and edited his post thusly:

Okay, instead, you will be reported to the police. Everyone’s “fears” assuaged?
My response:
Nope, too late. Especially when you put “fears” in quotes, as if you think this shouldn’t be taken seriously.
You threatened violence. I was willing to talk to you – and pretty much agree with you – until you did that. It completely ruined your credibility.
