So far the weather doesn’t sound too promising for Monday, March 17. Is this event cursed or doomed this year?

Top Men are monitoring the situation and will be the forum apprised of any changes.

FYI, here are the staging details for now:

“Monday, March 17th is the big day! We are in staging area 1 (#9 in parade order) which is the south side of Wilson Blvd between N Barton and N Adams. Staging begins at 7p and everyone needs to be in place by 7:30p. The parade will start promptly at 8p.”

    Check back for updates!

Hello to everybody—We now have 46 entrants for the parade on St. Patrick’s Day, so thank you for participating. They are calling for a bit of snow on Sunday night (naturally) but they haven’t said anything about it turning into a big storm, and the high on Monday is supposed to be above freezing, so for now, the parade is a GO! If the situation changes, I will keep you posted.

Due to changes in the mix of participants, I need to make some relatively minor revisions to the parade order, and make new staging maps. I’m in the process of doing that now, so expect another email later today with more information.

Have they thought about a fourth of july parade? Might not be too much snow then….

Sigh! The roads aren’t even bad at this point, and there are still several more hours in which they could be plowed to allow people to get there. Clearly they have never heard of Rule 5 or Rule 9!

An April Fool’s Day date is being explored for the new parade date. I’ll let you know if that actually happens.

Great… now it’s going to snow on March 31 or April 1. Thanks!

Or it might start off a series of derecho-related bike event cancellations. You never know what’s going to happen this year.

Ack! I could have gone either of the two previously scheduled times, but I have a rehearsal for Actor’s Nightmare (playing Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30, April 4 -19, 2014) that night! And given that I’m already missing the final dress rehearsal to be at the BAFS Happy Hour, I really can’t miss another rehearsal in the same week.

Or it will be an April Fool’s joke and there’s actually no parade.

No parade this year! See you next year.
