Calvinball has been acquired! (I request selfie bonus points) and has been rehidden where you should ride daily (but avoid the streetcar tracks!)
I guess a fairly new bike shop? I didn’t realize there aren’t too many full service shops left in DC.
Another horrible selfie (of me, Tyler looks great! ).
PS Those tracks scare the crap out of me. I finally pulled off to a parallel street. Road is too narrow too!

A warning –
‘Twas picked up this morning.
That person (not me)
Was busy at work,
And will post details later,
Alligator.No need to go there,
For you’ll not find what you seek.
If you go now,
there’s nothing to cleek.January 22, 2020 at 8:54 pm #1103678sszibler

ParticipantThis morning, sleepy, drowsy, weary
I perked right up – got rather cheery
When upon the forum I had crept..
My heart within, I swear it leapt..
The Calvinball, near within sight
Had been hidden! Last night!
It spurred me on – round and round
And lo behold – the ball was found:

ParticipantNOW thus behold – my work is done.
Upon the trail my wheels have spun.
I’ve gotten home so I can post.
No longer quiet – not a ghost.
The Calvinball south of Bladensburg Waterfront Park seek.
‘Neath this orange construction barrel take a peak.… and then go home and have some tea.

ParticipantWell, the idea was to retrieve the Calvin Ball and move it a short distance northward. I got a flat right after the wooden bridge! Walked in cleats to the park. The %€£*^!! restrooms were locked! They’re not usually locked!
I had trouble getting the tire off – a lot of trouble, partially because of my finger injury. Hands were getting very cold and my tire irons just wouldn’t work. Serendipitously, there were a couple of Pedro irons in the Calvin Ball and they took it off – zip, zap! I turned them down before, but they’re mine now! Thanks maybe Shirag? I did not die.
I never found what caused the flat on the Gatorskins. That always worries me. But made it home safely. Maybe it was the valve giving out 🤷🏻*♂️
In the meantime Calvin and Hobbs took the train north and they reside in the caboose!

I was up at 4am and considered going down for it, but the 22 degree temps decided for me.
Instead, birthday girl grabbed it on her way to work. She’ll post later.

ParticipantI have to thank sszibler for conveniently hiding the Calvinball along my commute on the two days in a row when I actually checked the forum in the morning before departing for work. Cheers, mate.
Found the Calvinball at Bladensburg Waterfront Park in the caboose. Was nearly unsuccessful when I saw that the doors were locked… but figured it out.
And now…
CB’s journey north, I thought I’d thwart
This is, of course, a sharing sport
And so to the wharf I slowly rode
Though not as slow, as say, a toad
Southwest DC – the smallest quadrant
The smell can be somewhat piquant
A pile of rubbish – out of the way
Though near the sidewalk I rode today
Leaving the wharf, on to Hain’s Point
Stop here and pretend to smoke a joint.

Fortunately not an early morning. Also, serendipitously, I just happened to be finishing up laps at Hains Point (is there a pointless Point prize this year???) when I stopped at the tennis courts building to check for Calvin Ball in the warmth. Once I had an idea that it wasn’t probably at the Point itself, though you were, it was pretty easy.
BTW, Happy Birthday!!

Yay! You’ve done it! Please restock it with something other than power bars as some cheap Calvin keeps doing. In his or her defense, Hobbs loves them and calls them TIGER FOOD.
