Alas, though I live in the wildes of Mary Land, I have no idea where that corkscrew is to be found.

Clever people might consider looking at my strava track. I usually delay posting it for a day or so, but it’s been longer than that now.

Update on Hobbes: The long road to recovery from being left alone for so long has begun. We went to the nearest spot to warm up (so no coffeeride points for this stop), but he made a new friend.4cb854c521445c89895d593ef3652a00.jpg9eba62d213e9fa80ce97b5eaef34b2dc.jpg7ba6b04374f4dd0a421bc3623fe1fb5e.jpg

Gosh! This ended up being much harder and a much longer ride than expected. The hint is attached to the picture and since I was at Georgetown I thought it would be an easy capture at the Trek bike shop “placed at Bill Shatner’s favorite bike shop” after deciding there was probably no one by that name in Freezing Saddles. No luck! I was finally guided to another Trek shop and there we must have had three or four of us working on it for a half hour. It briefly occurred to me that I should just google his favorite bike shop, but I dismissed that thinking he was just too old to be sponsoring anything like that. Wrong! One guy had that hunch and sure enough he does!

That was actually a lot of fun! I got to meet a bunch of bike people and a shop I didn’t know about and we all had fun working on it.

This happened, weeks after I claimed it would. There’s now a spreadsheet with scores and miscellaneous info and reasoning, and the OP has been updated with ordinances.

I believe there are currently 2 Calvinballs out in the wild (sszibler’s friendshipball and WB1), and LhasaCM’s Hobbesball (if you’re not going to hide it I’ll award you and M some points as is, I’m not opposed to taking one out-of-commission).

The current plan is for one more night inside for recovery, and then hiding him during tomorrow’s commute.

After one final morning meal, Hobbes finished preparations for returning to the wild to be sought again. However, he had one surprise up his sleeve: a transmogrifier! He did not think a tiger of his kind, as awesome as he is, was well suited for the cold of a DC winter. To better cope, he transmogrified himself into a Siberian Tiger.

We said our farewells, and then started our morning commute, looking for a good spot where he would be easily found but well hidden, and where he would be safe from most predators. We found a friendly dragon on the MBT that offered to protect him, but be wary – the zig zag has claimed many folks who do not tread carefully.

And – here’s the obligatory “Hobbes on M’s head” photo taken shortly before the transmogrification.

Unless something has happened more recently and not yet reported – Hobbes (post-transmogrification) was hidden by me/M, and then found and hidden again earlier today by Erikaceae. New hiding spot at the previous post in this thread
