ParticipantI’m signed up to volunteer, Jim, and can’t wait for the parade to begin!

ParticipantI signed up, even though I’m pretty sure Mardi Gras is not in fact a Jewish holiday.

ParticipantSnow in the extended forecast (again). Should be fun.

ParticipantThe parade has been postponed again, as it was last year. Arlington could get 4 to 8 inches of snow overnight.
The parade has been rescheduled for St. Patrick’s Day, Tue. March 17.

ParticipantSigh, and then it will snow on St Patricks and the parade will be cancelled, deja vu all over again.

ParticipantThe parade has been rescheduled yet again. This time it is moving to Tue. March 10, at 8 pm.
The current forecast looks promising. Although more ice and snow are on the way this week, it doesn’t appear that we will get any precipitation after Thur. Temperatures will warm up on Sun. with highs in the upper 40s and low 50s between Sat. and Wed. The forecast for Tue. is for a high of 52F with clear skies. Temperatures around 40F at 8 pm. The forecast can and will change, but there don’t seem to be any storm systems moving in next week.

ParticipantWe’re still kicking around schedules to see if we can make it work. It falls during the week of the National Bike Summit so we’ve already got conflicts. We’ll let you know when/if we’re going to do it.

ParticipantSo there will still be a walk/bike contingent at the Clarendon Parade, but it will be sans Tim in a dress. So while that is certainly disappointing, if you want to represent some bikelove at the parade, please email rebecca.dunn@neonichestrategies.com to join in the revelry!

Here’s the website: https://clarendon.org/mardi-gras/
BikeArlington won’t be there this year, as the rescheduled date conflicts with the National Bike Summit going on this week!

ParticipantWell, BikeArlington sort of got represented. The banner still said BikeArlington. And I did my best, as the sole bicyclist present, to share the bike love. I biked circles around the walkers, threw beads, and gave out candy to strange children. I couldn’t quite manage to look like Tim Kelley in a dress (since I look nothing like Tim Kelley and was not wearing a dress), but I did what I could!
