Apparently he was driving 83 mph in a 40 mph zone in California, back in June. He struck a husband and wife who were cycling. The husband suffered a broken leg. The wife, 58-yr-old Diana Hersevoort, died.
The teenager was initially charged with reckless driving and vehicular manslaughter. Then prosecutors looked at his Twitter feed, where he boasted about going on a “death ride” and about his motto: “Drive fast live young.” He was then charged with murder.
Wow, that is horrible. Of course, even with the tweet, I’m sure the California courts will let him off with a slap on the wrist.
If his motto is drive fast live young then I have to wonder if he considered the converse being drive slow, live to be old?
