ParticipantIt gives me 5.3 days. That’s only 63 miles per day.

ParticipantGave me 4.3. I did it in 2014 in 3.25!
Even if it’s not correct, it got us talking about riding from Pittsburgh!

And it gave me 5.5. So I either start in the middle of the night and end during the day or vice versa I guess.
And I will see Dread slowly pulling away from me.January 19, 2016 at 7:53 pm #1045616KayakCyndi
ParticipantI’m not going to look at this predictor. I’m more interested in when we are leaving and who is coming with me. Anyone?

ParticipantRecently, I discovered a new book genre – the bicyclist memoirist. A recent favorite is Life is a Wheel by NYT obituarist Bruce Weber. I sailed through the book and was excited to read his observations on riding through western PA. Unfortunately, getting into Pittsburgh from the Ohio River area sounded like a real ride, and the GAP ride was overshadowed by rain and his reunification with his girlfriend so I was left wanting. Nevertheless, I recommend the book even though it has me planning a ride halfway across the country this summer. (Sadly, unlike Bruce’s, my job would have no interest in coming with me.)

I’m sure we could arrange something with proper notice. My Masi would fit you and would work just fine.

ParticipantAssuming a day has a full 24 hours at its disposal it seems possible that someone has done that trip in a day before?

Don’t you remember Dirt’s group effort from a couple years ago? If I remember right, only one finished.

Huh, I do not recall an effort to ride from Pittsburgh to DC. So someone did do it within 24 hrs? Awesome; that is an inspiration.

Nah–they tried but didn’t make it. Got picked up in Harper’s ferry maybe? Bilsko was along for the ride too, right? Something about Pete slipping and hurting his knee right beforehand too? Anyone else remember details?
