You have to find the key first! (we may need to simply move the key to the shop)

It will be there as long as the fine folks at Bikenetic want it around. It was made with the intent of living at Bikenetic. My goal was for the original finder of the nivlaC ball to unleash the infernal delight of “nivlaC bike” for all to ride. How fitting that our own Pete D is the first rider of the nivlaC bike after coming back strong as ever from a real hard fall. I consider the nivlaC bike properly bestowed upon all us crazy happy folks that might want to ride it.
Having been bestowed with the Nivlic ball from on high it was obvious to me that this was a clear calling to conjure up a ekiB nivlaC. This let me also add in two of my favorite bike places Phoenix bikes.org and Bikenetic. Well, that and I have a well documented evil streak… I will post up the build with some pix later. The boy and I had fun making it.
The next person to have the key in hand please give it to the shop. (I need to get my Dear Daughters bike lock back too)

Under a raised pathOn the way from WTF Coffee went out mark,
Into headwinds stiff and stark,
Staying off NPS lands,

And the Phoenix ball sits in Long Bridge Park.

There is something very wrong with this Bike!
It might be more intuitive as a fixie ridden backwards.

Step one, get a discarded, unwanted but serviceable bike from Phoenix bike in Arlington. http://www.phoenixbikes.org/
Step 2. Google up two proper spur gears and do the clickity click thing.
Step 3. All the rest. While waiting for the magic brown van to arrive bearing gifts from the exotic land of “Amazon” the bike was torn down to the frame, all the unnecessary appendages cut off and the frame and fork exfoliated a bit. Needing some bearings and other bits it was time to start digging around in the metal laden pack rat middens tucked here and there in the extra space.
Proper parts found in the metal mulch it was time to make them fit together. The scrap for the new head tube was too large for the bearings so the tube was slit open, a section removed and then reformed in to a smaller diameter tube for a proper fit. The handle bar and stem were cut away from the quill and welded to the new stem. The old quill was turned round and cut down a bit to make room for the spur gear.Speaking of spur gears…..Check the front Porsche, I mean porch, for Amazonian gifts. Empty, Hmmm.
Back to the shop to clean the stuff intended for reuse and return everything to working condition. Let’s just say many cruel and demented methods were used and move on.
Check the front porch for Amazonian gifts. Cleaned up the wheels, rebuilt the hubs and freewheel. Check the front porch for Amazonian gifts. Get ticked. Hold arms up at a now dark starless sky and lament “The God of Brown Trucks has failed me!” I think He sensed my ire as soon after an electric bolt from on high struck my cellphone with an email. A note laden arrow shot into the front door. Seems 2 days sometimes means 2 to 4 weeks. Amid the wail of mental klaxon Plan B was invoked. Found and procured 2 spur gear$ locally and got back to work.
Welded one gear to the existing quill and the other to the new quill. Line up the bearing assembly and weld to the existing head tube. Lined everything up a bit and checked out the now working bass ackward action. Made a cover for the gears to keep fingers out so only a riders pride is at risk. While chuckling in a surprisingly evil tone even for me I took everything all back apart for paint. As this bike was to be painted up in Bikenetic colors I had to jump start the DeLorean and go back to 1986 for two rattle cans of paint. https://www.bikenetic.com/
As often printed in the holeyest of holy books, “Chilton’s”, and apropos here, “Assembly is reverse of disassembly”. This proved to be all true except for the discarded bits.
