I’m sorry to disappoint y’all who are looking for the other kind of bump and grind.
Am I a boring person if that title was totally not misleading?

ParticipantIt’s about time, the condition of parts of the MVT and Custis trail is simply terrible, it’s like they’ve created unintentional, accidental speed bumps. You don’t notice so much if walking but when riding, the paths are usually much worse quality than streets.

That’s kind of a spicy title for this thread… not normally what we’d expect when talking about a multi-use trail. If that’s why you clicked on this thread, you’ll be sorely disappointed.
I was dripping sweat all over Martha Custis this morning. Oh yeaaah.

ParticipantAnd to think I had pulled out my tube top and skort for nothing….
There are stretches along the Potomac that get your attention too, and I don’t mean the boardwalk. Cuts down on monument gawking, and I mean across the river.

ParticipantI like a bit of texture on my Multi-use trails. It adds character.

I noticed the line painting too. LIne painting is a joke under the circumstances. I suppose it is cheaper than paving but what really needs to be done is repaving, not painting. They should save the money from painting and use it to pave.

ParticipantSpeaking of lane painting….
We’ve got some drunken temporary line painting on 201 in Beltsville. I sent this video to MDOT — they told me they’d eventually put in permanent lane markings with a five-foot shoulder. We’ll see.
The video doesn’t show the worst of it — it’s even squigglier between Cherrywood Lane and Beaver Dam Road:

It adds much needed color to the trail. The trial is so plain looking.
