I use the crossing in question (Bluemont Trail / Spur as it crosses Kensington) almost daily and have learned to appreciate the challenges that come with limited sightlines and fairly quick car traffic. However, I had not driven on Kensington St. at that crossing in a long while, and I realized earlier this week when driving that street that the trail crossing is nearly invisible. There are few clear visual cues to motorists that cyclists and pedestrians “belong” in that space.
So with that, who can we talk to in order to get the crossing painted or marked in some obvious fashion? Any markings put in place previously don’t have any real effect at this time.
If someone can point me in the right direction I’m happy to submit the request.
