    Turns out I can do the Dirt trick of photography while riding — I just need there to be no cars on PA Avenue.

    Hey KLizotte — nice riding with you! I think we got separated somewhere in the crowds on the GW parkway, but we ended up having a great ride.

    And kudos to Melissa — first big ride on new bike: approx 45 miles!

    Hi Greenbelt, yeah, we got separated at the big pileup on the bridge. No biggee. I saw Melissa at one point heading in the opposite direction but didn’t have time to flag her down.

    Wow, Melissa’s ride was epic, esp in jeans and sneakers. She probably went home to sleep it off. 😮

    Way to go, Mike! I think I saw you all at one point. I also got a kick out of the photo in that series that showed the little girl on her bike with a toy baby carrier mounted to the back, and her doll with a helmet in it. Cute!

    I still can’t. I did, however, get a lovely photo of my forearm.

    Maybe we can have Dirt teach a Confident City Camerawork course.

    Start by setting the camera to burst mode (so that it takes many photos if you hold the button down). Aim it as best as you can and hold down that button. If you do this often enough, your ratio of keepers to trash will improve.

    Thanks for posting this, I knew the WP had taken some pictures, but I wasn’t sure when they would show up. Thanks for the link! We had a blast. At one point my middle son got tired and had to ride in the trailer. At the AF memorial I gave my wife a rest and pulled both the trailer and the trailer-bike down the hill and back over into the city. In all I think we were about 25-30 feet long, but full of smiles.

    It also showed up in the B section of the print version today. If you need an extra copy, please send me a PM with your address and I will mail it to you. Gotta show that to the grandparents!

    Thanks Liz, but we are fine. My wife picked up 2 copies when she found out about it. And since it’s the WP, my wife’s family was able to pick up a copy at their local Barnes and Noble.
    So, we got it covered .
