Okay, here’s the post you’ve all been waiting for!

Next week, next Monday and Wednesday we’re having our annual Lights for Bikes Giveaway and we need volunteers!

Monday, 11/4, we’ll be at the intersection of Lynn St, Lee Highway and the Custis Trail in Rosslyn. We’ll be setting up on the NW corner of the intersection in the large grassy area (instead of on the NE corner by the I-66 off ramp). We’ll plan to be there around 5pm and go until about 7ish or so. We need volunteers from the forum to help pass out lights and reflective gear. We’ll need some folks standing in the old spot (on the NE corner) flagging down people to tell them to come across if they want something.

Wednesday, 11/6, we’ll be at the intersection of Columbia Pike and the W&OD Trail. We’ll do it the same time, 5-7ish. We’ll have the Washington Lee Bike Club joining us for part of it too!

Everyone is welcome to come and help pass out goodies and then grab some extras to outfit any ninjas you may see on the trail. Just drop a quick post here if you plan on coming so we generally have an idea of how many people to expect!

    Did I forget anything?

Cold is right but it was fun — nice to meet some of you in person! (I was Ben)

Yep, I’m in for Wed… sort of miss seeing your faces after being at the beach for a week anyway! Probably there by 5:00. I could also join Chris for an FCC give away if it happens. What type of Pie is John bringing… need to coordinate with my drink selection?

Sorry I missed you all last night, I thought it was at the Custis/WOD intersection like in years past, it wasnt until late that I realized it was moved.

    Oops. Sorry

We always do the first one in Rosslyn and the second one on Columbia Pike. In the past we’ve done a third one at the Cutis/WOD so we’re currently trying to figure out where we’ll do another one.

We have a lot of people planning to help out on Weds. Last year a number of us were hungry afterwards and went to Capitol City Brewing Co. It was fun. ;-)

Anyone heading out from DC want to meet at the 14th St Bridge in the neighborhood of 5pm Wednesday?

I got a very nice Bike Arlington vest yesterday – thanks guys! One question – do they come in small sizes? I got a large one and I think I might be able to use it as a sail on windy days :)

I had mine “tailored” and I think someone else on the forum eminva? modified theirs to fit as well.

I ended up using the spare strips of hi viz material on my shoes as part of a Diamond Derby costume.

Yes, we have Small, Medium, and Large! And yes, the large size is huge — I’m over 6′ tall and had to trade down for a medium…
