Peter, since I already commute 100% by bike, and it’s over two miles one way, how do I add much value to the true underacheivers on the Blue team for the 2MC? I’m only able to add two more errand trips per week!

I love the calorie burn meter on the cascade challenge. I’m a newbie at longer-distance commuting, but have caught the bug completely. Got 2,209 miles on my computer since I installed it on Jan 3, plus a couple hundred more on other bikes. So that’s a pace for nearly 7k miles this year if I can keep it up. Main motivations? Saving $10 a day on Metro fares and getting grimaces when I “complain” about how I have to keep eating constantly to avoid additional weight loss. Pre-ride breakfast, second breakfast, first lunch, second lunch, pre-ride snack, dinner, bedtime snack. I’m getting hungry…

I love the Blue Team. If you look at their stats, they did REALLY well considering how many fewer people they had riding for them. Underdog? yes. Underacheivers? Maybe not. ;)

Dirt, this thread was just used as an example in a continuing education class for transportation planners (that I happened to be sitting in on). When I saw that you were a Most Senior Member, I had to stifle it.

That is my contribution to this thread.

(Well, that and that I’m working for the Gold Team, these days.)

Finally a title that I’m truly deserving of. :P

Hey…. I got third place in the “most miles overall” category!

I’m a wiener! err Winner… err… probably the first one.

What did I win? Bragging rights I guess?

You get to be smug and superior for all eternity. ;)

Seriously though, great job. You’re an inspiration and a great example of making life work well on a bicycle.

1,430 miles in may is ridiculous. You’ll have to move farther out to take top spot next year. Congrats
