    Would any of the Bike Stores or Coops care to participate in the May 3 bike fair? It will be at the FCC in SW DC, in our courtyard which is the lunchtime area – very visible. We have participating NPS, WABA, FABB, goDCgo, and of course FCCycle. Please let me know if you might like to join us. You can email directly at rcannon100 at yahoo.

    Bike to Work Month Fair
    Thursday May 3rd
    11 am to 2 pm
    Portals Courtyard

    Access Portals Courtyard, at 445 12th Street SW, by going down the alley way North of Portals II (the FCC). At the end of the Alley is a commercial parking lot. As you go in, there is a stairway up to the courtyard to your left, near the bike racks. Follow the signs to the Capital Cafe. Google map http://g.co/maps/qsm4n

    12.30 pm we celebrate our Bike Friendly Business certification WITH CAKE!

    I will try to have a flier I can circulate on Monday (one with directions on how to get there)

    can i get to the bike fair on/with my bike, or should i plan to lock it up somewhere?

    The Portals II courtyard is a courtyard – it has building essentially all the way around. So no, you cant bring your bike in.

    But, bike parking is available in the public parking garage and directly in front of the FCC.*

    The Bike Fair will be small (dont want to be accuse of false advertising). Five groups – as a little neighborhood event I am totally excited about encouraging the locals to bike to work this month.

    *the best way into the Courtyard is down the alley, northside of 445 12th St SW, to the public parking. Just inside the public parking, to the left, next to the bike racks, is a stairway up. The bike racks are perfect place to lock up (inverted Us).
