Bike to School Day 2017

I rode with my brother (a teacher) to his school (Fairhill ES) today, then biked to all 3 of my nieces’/nephew’s schools. Great morning for a ride!

Turns out bike to school day at Mundo Verde PCS is pretty much like any any other day at the school except this time they had granola made by the students.

This was our little bike train – I was hoping for more people, but whatever.

Are the gremlins riding their own bikes to school now? I seemed to recall that you were still lugging them around for lack of a safe route.

They do on special occasions. We take some sidewalks. There is no fully on-street route from our house to their school that I would allow them to ride.

It takes about twice as long as when I throw them on the longtail.

Sadly, I was unable to use any of the footage from my rear-facing camera for the ride due to something I discovered on the ride: one of the screws attaching my bike rack (to which my camera was attached) had come loose and fallen off during all the bumpy gravel riding, leaving the bike rack loosely attached and adding much more bumpiness to the footage. I did, however, find a solution: I used a couple of screenshots taken from the rear-facing camera that weren’t too blurry.

Now, it’s time to work on my Bike to Work Day video!
