I have a nephew who is about 36, into biking, stationed near Fort Campbell,Kentucky. I don’t know if he is more into mountain bikes or road bikes. My mother wants to get him a gift card to a bike store. I realize this is a long shot, but does anyone have any recommendations for a bike store down there? I can see what I can find in the internet as well, but wanted to see if anyone has had any personal recommendations (including for place to avoid).

    Thanks.

A quick look at Google shows one whole bike shop in Clarksville…and not the kind that is likely to have gift cards. Nashville has more options, but again, looks like they’re pretty small and there isn’t much info. Performance Bike (large nationwide chain with a huge online store) is one option, or Nashbar (online store that doesn’t have physical stores) or Amazon, but that would limit him to online shopping. There are a number of other brick and mortar shops with a good online store, but none near Ft. Campbell or even TN/KY.

I’d call the place down there – good chance if it’s a small town place, they’d be happy to write up a gift certificate.

Thanks. I saw a place called Riversides Bikes, which had mostly favorable reviews. I can try to give them a call. If there are only a small number of bike stores, my nephew may know it, and already like or hate it.

This is one of those times when it is best to send a cash or a check given the very limited options. She can send it in a card with a bike on it and a nice note about how she hopes he will use the money.
