Bike Lane Removed at 1000 N Glebe and N Fairfax?

In that event, it appears that the curb you pointed out is actually the curb for the two-way cycle track.

I have a hunch that there should be some sort of provision given to bikes during the construction. I’ll run it up the line…

I rode through there last Friday. Currently, as soon as you cross Glebe you suddenly find yourself no longer in a bike lane and instead a traffic lane

This construction site has been horrible for cyclists and pedestrians both on Glebe and Fairfax. I have complained to the county repeatedly. After each complaint, something was done, including moving/adding signs and, surprisingly, installing a covered pedestrian walkway. But I should not have needed to complain. My schedule has changed recently, so I do not have the time to complain as freely as I did this past summer and fall. They really need a big sign warning cyclists and drivers of the lack of lane. I have been lucky in that most of the drivers have let me in when I stick my arm out and then pedal like mad.

They are at it again. Now, the final 100 yards of sidewalk have been removed as you head toward the bike trail, forcing cyclists into the street AT THE ENTRANCE TO I66. Not that cars are accelerating here in any way to get up to highway speed. I appreciate that they are going to replace the sidewalk, at some point, but leaving it as loose soil that cannot be ridden on just ain’t right.

I’m not even complaining that the future protected bike path is not yet finished and is an obstacle course.

So Arlington County, is there a particular reason that these serial offenders are not being monitored.
