Vesper Street Trail is relatively new. Its ribbon-cutting ceremony happened on April 16, 2019. This 0.4-mile trail connects pedestrians and cyclists from Vesper Street to Spring Hill Metro Station.

    Wilkes Tunnel
    Wilkes Street, Alexandria, VA
There was a railroad many years ago, and now it is a tunnel for pedestrians and bikers. The tunnel is also very popular for photoshoots among families, couples, and other people.

Last Spring, NYC partially closed down parts of several streets to create more room for exercise, especially near some parks. Many of these “Open Streets” have reverted to regular traffic lanes, but this section of 34th Ave from 69th St to Junction Blvd in Jackson Heights, Queens, is still active. Speed limit is 5 mph. Many runners were exceeding that. ;)

A panorama shot of a walking and biking path under Duke Street connecting Dulany Street and Diagonal Road. Sometimes it is closed. Maybe on weekends and holidays, but I have not figured it out completely yet.

According to the Carlyle Council’s website, the tunnel is open 5 am – 10 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am – 7 pm on Saturdays. It’s closed on Sundays and federal holidays.

Is there a category for “well meaning but certain death” on this thread?
