Tyson’s is generally a place to avoid on a bike, but there are a few routes that can be good and useful. Covid has definitely made Tyson’s more welcoming, but it won’t last forever.
The bridge over Leesburg Pike on Kidwell Dr has a nice bike lane that is distanced from the main driving lane and it’s not a busy stretch.
Makes a good way to connect Gallows to Jones Branch & Westpark (two roads relatively good for cycling around Tyson’s).

Looks like you can find a bike shaped rack in Vienna as well (like they are all over Falls Church).
Not sure who copied whom :)

I was in the process of posting two infrastructure photos when there were site issues.

A small section of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway along West St in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The small orange sign on the green construction wall asks drivers to not park in the bike lane (you can see it’s being ignored).

The approach to the Brooklyn Bridge from Adams St.

I can’t seem to get rid of the Queens-Midtown Tunnel from the bike lane on the Pulaski Bridge.

You’re making me nostalgic, even the midtown tunnel.

Another stand and air pump, at the City of Takoma Park Municipal Building, 7500 Maple Avenue. Just between the MBT and Sligo Creek Trails, and helped me make it part of the way home today when I was #deflated

I did ride over the newly opened Cedar Ln bridge, but no photo.
Instead, a boring infrastructure sighting of the Capital Bikeshare station at Lee Hwy & Woodstock in Arlington.

CaBi Stations are always great Infa to explore!

Hmmm… when we’re free to travel again you’re giving me some places to explore in NYC!

I know this won’t win for novelty, but here’s the newly opened Cedar Lane bridge over I-66 in Vienna, complete with a lovely and wide multi-use path! A great reopened connection between Merrifield and Vienna!

I took a bunch of pictures on Dec. 24, if you want to check them out: https://www.strava.com/activities/4514465529

It is entirely unclear how southbound riders are supposed to utilize the wide sidewalk on the east side of the bridge. There is neither a useful approach nor a good way to exit. Personally, going southbound I will continue to take the lane.
Hopefully someday the trail continuing northbound from the bridge to Cottage Dr. will be widened and improved.

I just discovered that a lane of G Street NW in DC has been appropriated into a 2-way cycletrack. This is excellent since it provides additional accessibility to Friday Coffee Club Swing’s once it reopens.

This is the eastward looking and westward looking views, respectively, from about 19th St.
