I wouldn’t bother. I have rags and lube in bike shed, so if I have time I will just apply rock-n-roll lube if coming in from rain. Only takes about 30 seconds. If it is a rainy week, I wont bother doing that every day/night. After a couple/few days, I might wipe it down with a [different] rag and that is about the extent of cleaning routine. Well, periodically I will do a more thorough job, to include wheels, but that is still probably 5 minutes.

Granted, if I had rim brakes I would probably wipe down rims quickly after a ride if they were cruddy.

If its going to rain again, after a wet ride I’ll generally just throw the bike in the stand, wipe the chain/drivetrain down and relube it. Takes a few minutes. If its been a rainy week and the next few look sunny and nice I’ll do a more thorough cleaning.

No. You should wipe the valve on your BikeArlington water bottle. Don’t want to swallow any of that stuff.

Nope. It is a West Virginia variety of mud courtesy of this weekend’s wet Mountain State (very) Dirty Double.
