I did this ride last year and really enjoyed it. The police motorcade escort was awesome.
It’s free, it supports a good cause, I’d love to see a lot of you there!

Interested… but there’s nothing about length / route. FAQ’s are very interesting, but not about the ride. Is this something I can talk my wife into? A good first trip for the 1-yr old in a trailer?

Last year it started in front of the White House and the loop was about 10-12 miles. Comparatively easy ride.

Riding unhindered down the middle of U st while the motorcoppers stopped cross traffic was so cool.
It seemed like the back end got separated from the front last year so they might do some slower pacing in the lead this time. Otherwise it seemed very casual, even had rental bikes available at the start, it’s more like a parade than a cruise because it’s good to draw attention and make some noise.

I wonder what the bike around the fallout plume route would look like. Probably not as good a way to draw attention to your cause.

I ride marshaled this last year, and am signed up to do so again!

It is an extremely laid-back (peaceful/reflective) pace, and the police protection on the streets makes it a great all-ages bring-the-family event.
A whole bunch more people than expected showed up last year, and it wasn’t a problem. It added to the sense of peaceful solidarity and the open-to-all vibe. 😎

Plus its nice and early without being at the crack of dawn! So if its hot that day, we’ll likely be done by/before noon.

Photographic proof that LeprosyStudyGroup and Judd Lumberjack biked around the bomb. The great thing about this picture is that it includes some dudes that happened to be kitted out and biking down 15th St and crossed paths with us. I loved all of the WTF looks we got during the event.
