Count me in! Shall we rendezvous on the W&OD (mile 7.5 @ popular heights pool, just westward of the Citizens bridge) and make a pit stop at either TJs (Tysons Station) or Whole Foods (Vienna) for picnic supplies???

Argh, if this weren’t a work night I’d totally be in. Garbage was one of my first concerts growing up so I’d love to see them again, and I love Wolf Trap (and always wanted to try biking there). Hopefully there will be a next time on a weekend to at least check out wolf trap via bike.

As komorebi taught me, whizzing past all the snarled traffic on the way out makes a show at Wolf Trap even better! My experience is that this is true even in the rain.

I am unable to attend, but I’ll put this out there for folks coming from Tysons as a reference for an easy way to get to Wolftrap from the Spring Hill Metro on the Silver Line. You can use the following route to get from one to the other: https://www.strava.com/routes/9938309 With this route, Wolftrap is only 2.5 miles from the Metro which makes it very accessible.

I realize now that it won’t be very useful on a weeknight due to Metro’s policy against bikes on trains during rush hour, but it could be useful for folks heading back to DC/MD after the show. It’s definitely useful on the weekends, too.

    Enjoy the show!

I suggest this (with rendezvous points):

5:15 – Depart Basketball court by East Falls Church
5:30 – (meetup point) Citizen’s Bridge east side (bench area)
    6:00 – Whole Foods Vienna

From there, once we’re loaded with foodstuffs and potables, convoy to the concert.

    Does this timing work?

Very cool! I won’t be able to make it this time because of work/a standing commitment, but I love this idea! I’ve wanted to go to Wolf Trap for something and it would be more fun in a group.

I agree Kitty. I’d love to ride to Wolf Trap and back on a weekend.

Any fans of David Sedaris here? There are still tickets avail. for him (reading his hilarious essays) for Sat. 8/19 at 8 pm. About $35 inc. fees for the lawn.

    A description:
One of America’s pre-eminent humor writers, David Sedaris’ sardonic wit and incisive social critique have made him one of NPR’s most popular commentators, as well as a frequent contributor to The New Yorker….

Let me know if anyone wants to go and we can arrange a ride out!

Rapture, be pure. Take a tour, through the sewer.
Don’t strain your brain, paint a train. You’ll be singin’ in the rain.
