Thank for organize, Judd. I would like to join the ride. If I miss at start, then will catch up at Kennedy Center.

Sorry I didn’t see this message earlier so I will not be there. Have fun.

I will not be able to make it. My family misses me, and I haven’t quite trained them up to follow me anywhere I go… yet. ;) Have a great ride!

So I was in the public restroom/Barns & Nobel in Bethesda on my ride on Saturday and saw they had a book specially prepared to get us amped for this. It somehow manages to make our mid 19th-century “caretaker” presidents look cool:

Stoked for the visit to Bluejacket! I’ve never been; was waiting for an invitation!

In case it changes Kitty’s RSVP, there will be no mention of Michigan on this ride.

Yeah, yeah. I know. We had ONE president, and he wasn’t elected by anybody. And had a problem with gravity. Oh well, I guess some college back there didn’t realize this and named one of their professional schools after him. Silly fools…

I’m sad I won’t be able to join the ride but would like to join for the after party. Sounds like you prob won’t get there till after 2? Will have to hear all about it afterwards!

Count me in on the ride. I’ll meet up at the Starbucks at 10:30. Looking forward to it.

Hey everyone, not sure if you all are heading back to bluejacket but I am here and they are experiencing a water problem so will be shutting down soon for the evening. Will have to hydrate somewhere else!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Bicycle Fun Club President’s Day Ride today. Attendance was overwhelming, with over 30 people in attendance. There was no better way to spend the day.

Next one will probably involve lots of gambling and debauchery.

Thank you, Judd — what an amazing presentation. You crammed in so many interesting details about Deep Throat, the Watergate steps, Teddy Bears and Billy Possums, the Roosevelt Island sports club, assassinations, FDR’s polio and March of Dimes, the new oldest-ever president… My head is still spinning with all the new info to think about. :)
Here are some pictures from the tour.

What a fun ride!! Judd did a ton of prep work and it showed. At each stop Judd regaled us with interesting, fun and quirky Presidential facts. The Watergate steps was my favorite, with the lighthouse a close 2nd. The route was well planned (even though we didn’t get to ride on Columbia Pike) and Komerebi did an amazing job running sweep, especially through the city and on the busy MVT. And I loved that Kitty offered more tidbits at each stop too. Great route, amazingly fun people and a picture perfect day. And another thanks to Komerebi for hosting the after party! Seriously, what else would you rather be doing than riding on a Bicycle Fun Club ride? I’m looking forward to the next one, filled with gambling and debauchery! 😎

This was seriously one of the best days! First off, thanks for ordering such gorgeous weather! It was perfect. Second, Judd did an amazing job with the historical facts. I am usually bored to tears by history, but Judd has a knack of making things quite interesting. I suggested we imbibe him with lots of whisky and have him tell us a story. Our own drunk history in the making! Lastly, huge thanks to Komorebi for playing sweep and for hosting the after party. It was a great day. I can not wait to do it again!

Seriously awesome ride–thank you Judd for taking the time and effort to plan out such a fun ride with great and interesting pieces of information, and Komerebi for doing a great job making sure no one got left behind. Between banana pancakes, starbucks, and fun history, it was sooo much fun!

The weather was also just amazing. I am totally sunburned now though, which is NOT something I expected to happen in February!
