    Hmmmm Judd… is this a “What happens in the lock house stays in the lock house” event?

    Sarah and I are doing the same thing for AFCC. Perhaps we can coordinate the ride out afterwards?

    Yes! I am so in for this. Will roll out after AFCC. If there is mud again this year, you early rollers will be spared my sailor-esque language :)

    It’s a “What happens at the lockhouse will probably be discussed on the forum” event.

    Your sailor-esque language is my favorite thing about you though.

    I’m also volunteering at the AFCC, so will roll out with the later crew.

    OK well between this cool sounding trip and doing the DC Bike Ride last week I finally purchased a drop bar touring bike to compliment my hybrid commuter (so my wife could use the hybrid for the DCBR). I’ve got a rear rack and a pair of 20L panniers so I think I’ll have the cargo capacity for a short overnight trip, but I’m a total noob and would like suggestions on what all gear I’ll need for the trip.

    See komorebi’s reply #22 above. Really, all you need to bring is a sleeping bag. Oh yeah, I guess clothes to change into once you get there, though you could get away with wearing the same stinky clothes the entire trip.

    I do not have a sleeping bag, so I would like to claim one of the bunks if still available.

    What time are the folks in the afternoon roll-out thinking about heading out?

    If people can wait until early afternoon I’m thinking about joining. I have a volunteer thing with AFCC that goes until 12:30 or so, but I could probably leave right from there, or by 1:00/1:30 if needed. I’m totally fine with leaving later too.

    I have a sleeping bag, and a tent* so I don’t need a bunk.

    * kwarkentien’s tent which I still haven’t given back yet… 😮
