? Best Way to Bike From Alexandria to Algonkian Regional Park in Sterling?

After getting off the W&OD trail, what’s the best way to avoid traffic and bike up north to Algonkian Regional Park? Thanks!

My recommendation: Mt Vernon to Shirlington Connector (just south of National) to the W&OD. W&OD all the way out to Reston. Hop off on the Fairfax County Parkway trail just past Reston Town Center. Fairfax County Parkway trail goes north all the way to 7; after crossing 7, just hop on Algonkian Parkway around to the park (Algonkian parkway is sorta highway-ish but isn’t heavily traveled and lots of cyclists ride it).
