Best use for old mtn bike tires?

I finally replaced the heavy, knobbed tires on my mountain bike with smoother, lighter cyclocross tires. I never ride off-road so there’s no need for me to ride with the heavy MTB tires. (They came with the bike, when I first got it.)
The old tires have seen quite a few miles and there are some small dry-rot cracks. I doubt anyone else could use them. I certainly won’t use them again. I’ll try to bring them to a place where I can recycle them. But are there any other potential uses? Anyone building a large holiday display out of old bicycle parts? Maybe they can be used for the bike tire obstacle at the next Crystal City Diamond Derby cyclocross race? Thoughts?
P.S. I won’t have a chance to try out the new cyclocross tires until next weekend. I’ll be riding this week, but primarily on CaBi (for morning commutes). After a long post-marathon break, I’m easing back into regular activity again.
