Salutations and welcome on board. To that question there is one perfect answer: the Custis.

    Thank you Arlington!

Thanks for the suggestion. I haven’t tried it but I look forward to it.

Run? Why would anyone want to do that when they can ride a bike? 😎

I’m off tomorrow and want to go for a run. Any reports on plowed trails in Arlington, Alexandria or Ffx? I suppose MVT isn’t plowed.

I made the MVT mistake this morning. Avoid it like the plague until we get two solid 50 degree days to melt all this crap. There are some straight patches, but then a lot of dense ice pack crap. I gave up on it after a mile and took roads the rest of the way in.

PS – the Custis, if you’re not familiar with it, is definitely a hill run. Just FYI!

The forecast for next week looks promising, but confusing. Daily highs, Sun. to Sat.: 40 (rain?), 44, 38 (snow?), 61 (rain?), 45 (rain?), 39, 47. I’m not sure how it’s supposed to snow when the temperature is expected to be in the mid 30s during the snow period. I really hope today is the last “winter” weekday. (Now that I typed that, we’ll get another winter storm 10 days from now.)

Are the CCT or RCP trails any good? I have to run 20 miles tomorrow. Hooray…

Yeah. I found the other forum right after I posted this. Sorry! The RNR Marathon is in a few weeks and Saturday is supposed to be my last long run. Then it is back to biking.

What about doing loops of East Potomac Park/Hains Point? It’s only 3 miles or so, but you can extend the route by heading up Ohio Drive toward the Lincoln Memorial, then turn around back to East Potomac Park. I’m not sure if all the sidewalks are cleared in West Potomac Park, but I think the road is clear in East Potomac Park. Someone reported that the road is being plowed. I’ve only seen part of it from the Metro Yellow Line as it passes over the park. That section looks clear.

Even with the West Potomac Park section, it still means multiple laps but you do what you can with winter conditions.
