    A super last-minute notice BUT…

On October 22nd, the inaugural Bellringer ride – D.C.’s newest fully supported bike ride will be taking place. Every dollar raised will fund cancer research at Georgetown’s cancer center.

I have worked this year with a team (Dream Rides) to lead rides and provide education to riders in preparation for the event. Thanks to the support of a few generous donors, BellRinger has offered our team some extra rider slots for the Inaugural Ride.

The registration fee ($100) and fundraising requirement will be fully covered. (We just ask that you make some kind of earnest effort to raise a few dollars on your behalf…or post about the ride on social media.)

You can choose to ride 25, 50, or 100 miles. BellRinger will throw a big party on Georgetown’s campus on the 21st and then we gather for the ride the next day. The ride heads out on a beautiful fully supported course into rural Maryland. The first 7-ish miles are car free! Fully-supported rest stops are located approximately every 10 to 15 miles. Rider shuttles (which will be continuous through the event) will get you (and your bike) back to the start line. Each finish area will have a rider celebration filled with music and fun!

Here are the instructions to sign up and get your registration and fundraising requirements waived:

    • Go to BellRinger.org/register and enter your information
    • Select your Ride distance
    • On the “Join a Team” step, search for “Dream Rides” and join this team. This will ensure we can track everyone
    • You’ll still need to enter your credit card on the check out step, but you can use the code OCT22 to waive the $100 fee. No one’s credit card is getting charged. We’ve got you covered.

Online registration ends at noon on Friday, the 21st. But, you can sign up in person at the night time event on Friday or day of. (Just mention you want to join Dream Rides team!)

Here are the links to the routes, they may continue to be updates that will be reflected in these links. The first 7 miles or so are car-free!

    100 mile: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/39218588

I’m super sad I’m on the injured reserve for this ride, so I’d love to know that others get to take advantage of this great offer and new event!
