Tri360 (on the W&OD between mile markers 5.5 and 6) and TayloredFit are teaming up to teach a FREE intro to cycling workshop for women only on Sunday, April 7th at 11 a.m.! This is a great opportunity for women riders just getting into cycling, or those of you who want to introduce your friends to cycling.

The session will start with a general discussion about shifting, clipping in, where to ride in the area and a few other topics. We’ll follow the “classroom” instruction with a coached session out on our bikes where you will have a chance to practice clipping in, changing gears, starting and stopping all while gaining the confidence to feel comfortable riding in close proximity to other riders.

Again, registration is FREE, but space is limited so you’ll need to sign up through this link: http://tayloredfit.com/bootcamps/sport-specific-workshops/

Just to be clear, is this geared toward women who want to get into road cycling rather than commuters or casual riders?

The clinic is aimed at both those getting into road cycling and those who are interested in just getting on a bike. The first half of the session will be a discussion that would be more fulfilling and answer more questions for the commuters and recreational cyclists. The on the bike riding section of the clinic (latter half) will probably skew more towards road riding. However, folks don’t have to stay for the whole session.

It’s geared for both those who want to get into road cycling and commuters/casual riders! The first half will be an introductory conversation that will answer all the hows and whats of cycling. The second half, we’ll go outside on our bikes for a coached session, which might orient more towards a road rider. That being said, participants don’t have to stay for the entirety of the workshop.
