ParticipantI’ve never been even a moderately competitive player at this – but I love it! I hope you’ll lead a beeraneuring ride or two, Steve. [emoji16]

ParticipantI actually came in third one time, but got nerfed near the end, and I have made it a point to NOT try for the overall prize, but to focus on breweries I have never visited before. Since most of those, for me, at this point are ones in places I haven’t ridden, I think adding a little comment on the riding conditions may be appropriate (plus it will I hope give me a change to kvetch about riding on the arterials of Loudoun County)

ParticipantLost Rhino on 1/2 with Boomer Cycles and CBGAnimal. Despite the less than friendly drivers out yonder, we didn’t die. (The route there off the WOD is much more tame on weekends.) I had the Face Plant, a consistently good IPA with the resin finish that I love.

I resemble that remark, and drank 5 beers across the light to dark spectrum, including an Irish Mist which included hints of coffee (and therefore eligible for #coffeeneuring points?
. The riding conditions were treacherous, largely due to chasing @reji all afternoon on her new Liv road bike at high speeds, and a patch of wet cement!:-0

New rule! If you number your beerneuring titles like reji did, then you get an extra point because the Beerneuringmeister (TM) is lazy.

ParticipantRule clarification! I’ve been asked if having a cider at a cidery or a mead at a meadery would count. They do! What doesn’t count is wine at a winery or spirits at a distillery.

Thanks I was going to ask that. Sounds like anything that can be rated on Ratebeer (but you are on untapped?) . Thus no flavored malt beverages (but are they ever served in taprooms? I guess not.) And since some participants may venture to Japan, sakes would be okay?

Participant1/4 with fxbooks and Boomer at New District Brewing. I had the 1821 Dark, one of my favorites. Coffee, chocolate and malt goodness in a glass.

ParticipantI stopped at DC Brau today. They have 1/2 priced pints of their flagship beers on Fridays ($2.50/pint). For those impacted by the government shutdown, they’re offering 1% off for every day the government’s shutdown with a government ID (currently at 14% off, Friday 1/2 off pints excepted).
Riding on Bladensburg Road can be harrowing, but if you take the Anacostia Tributary Trail and cut through the Town of Calomar Manor, you only have to be on Bladensburg Road for 1/2 a mile. As a bonus, you ride by the historic Bladensburg Dueling Grounds.
I had the always solid, and a bit piney, Corruption IPA.
