    Hello team 17,

I’m Laurie E.  and am looking forward to winter fun on my bikes.  I always say that “Freezing Saddle is when the adults come out to play”!  This is my 9th year of doing FS and I have encourage many other people to join.

Hi Team 17, nice to meet everyone! I’m Izzie, first timer to Freezing Saddles and gravel bike / bikepacking enthusiast. I would definitely be interested in a social ride together and am happy to help organize if folks are interested.

I have some out of town work travel which will prevent me from riding every day. I’ll be the first to admit that I joined FS out of an interest in getting more involved in the DC bike community and a curiosity towards the overall experience. I’m less motivated by the points and leaderboard, but will still aim to get out there this winter season and ride as much as I can.

    Hi Team 17

I’m Patty Craley and this is my first year participating in Freezing Saddles.  I signed up for a long bike ride in Spain in May, and so I am participating to keep me motivated to be out on my bike this winter.  I ride both road and gravel, am interested in a social ride and/or get together at some point.  That said, I live in Purcellville, VA, so it’s a hike for me to get to Arlington and DC where most of the social stuff occurs.

I won’t be a ringer, but I’ll do my best to ride at least 1 mile a day and often more. Go Team 17!

Howdy, folks, I’m Matt (Williams, not Black) and I’m a year-round cyclist. 😲😉

This is my fourth time participating in freezing saddles, but it’s been a couple years since my last go-round.  I work from home so don’t ride to work, but instead ride *from* work during lunch.  (Even my boss knows not to schedule lunch meetings with me because I’ll be out riding.)  I’m out in the wilderness of suburbia (but not as far as Patty is) that is western Fairfax (Chantilly/Fair Lakes area).  I typically ride 100+ miles / week, but during the winter that goes down a bit (although I will try to ride at least 10 miles / day during Freezing Saddles to maximize the points).

In past years I’ve won the Parkfinder and Civil War pointless prizes; this year I’m going for the Flag and Wandrer pointless prizes.  I probably won’t last much longer in the flag competition though, as there aren’t that many flags out in my neck of the woods other than Old Glory.
