*Reminder, ANY/ALL rides from January 1st on COUNT even though you weren’t “technically” part of our team yet*

If you would like, subscribe to this thread by choosing “Thread Tools” then “Subscribe to this Thread”.
Once we get some members on here, we can decide what mode of communication is best/easiest for everyone (Personally, I find the forum rather clunky). I would suggest WhatsApp or Facebook.

Some general tips/advice:
– Ride every day if you can! We get the most points when everyone does at least a sleaze (1 mile) ride. Obviously, the more you ride the more points you/we get. There is no mileage cap this year, so pedal your hearts out!!
– This Facebook Group will give you more info/connect you with others outside of our team, they will likely post some rides on there as well
– This Strava Group will give you a general idea of how you’re doing every week compared to other area riders, but it is not the official FS leaderboard

Hello again All!
Captain, Nevada, here! This is my third year participating in BAFS but my first year as a team captain.
A little about me, I am a mostly DC-area native. I live close to Brookland (NE DC). I’m an athletic trainer (the person in the khaki pants that runs on the field when someone gets hurt) currently working at an outpatient clinic in Rosslyn.
I generally bike commute every day and have been car-free since August of this year. I love coffee, bourbon, and food.

Hey, all.
I’m Christy. This is my fifth time participating in BAFs (over 6 years). Normally my commute accounts for most of my miles, and trips to restaurants/bars/coffee shops/running errands the rest– so we’ll see how this goes. I’d gone down to riding only once or twice a week in 2020, largely with my husband who is new to cycling (and makes me feel speedy). Now I’m trying to get out for ten miles a day, both for BAFS and just to get back into it. I’m also running the New Deal Pointless prize.
When not biking I’m researching or writing (I’m a historian). I live in Hyattsville, Maryland, and mostly bike along the Anacostia trail system (including Sligo and NW Branch), though I also like the DC streets and have been doing a little exploring this year since I don’t have to commute to the same place every day. I’m nursing an injured knee at present, though, so I’ve been sticking to the (less hilly) trails rather than wandering through the city. Hopefully in a few weeks I’ll be back to wandering.
And like Nevada, I love bourbon and food. I love Scotch even more. I’m a tea drinker, though (no coffee).

Hi Team! My name’s Harrison. I’m a commuter turned club rider in Burke/Fairfax. I try to ride everyday and love riding in the cold, or the wet (though not crazy about both simultaneously). I’ve got a child doing remote school that occasionally complicates my riding schedule (and enriches my life, makes me proud, yada yada yada).

I love my old steel bike, tedious coffee preparation, and a nice beer after a good ride (usually long after as I tend to ride in the morning) though I can absolutely appreciate a smokey scotch or a not-too-sweet whisky.

@historygeek — I’m not a historian, but I am an archivist/librarian, so a fellow traveler of sorts!

Looking forward to virtually riding with you all! I’ll do my best to pull my weight! I’m hoping to do about 20mi/day, but my baseline goal is to get out everyday for something (Captain’s Orders!).

1) Iced Coffee
2) IceCycles
3) Glacial Paceline

Also, I’d opt for a WhatsApp thread over FB for regular contact, but whatever works for most.
