I’m not sure I like your idea for Wilson and Clarendon. I commute to Rosslyn, and the hill from Courthouse on Clarendon is steeper than Wilson. So I really prefer going downhill on Clarendon and uphill on Wilson.

Sign a bike route on S 7th St and Irving from Washington Blvd/Pershing to Irving/10th Street. Add bike lanes on 10th between Irving and Fairfax/Kirkwood. Maybe traffic light at 10th and Irving to make westbound left turns onto 10th easier. With this, you have a continuous bike route between Ballston/Clarendon and the new bike path on the south side of Arlington Blvd.

Check out my blog re: connecting Ballston & Rosslyn through Clarendon Circle here. Not the same as what Dismal is suggesting, but complementary.

Oh, protected bike lanes on Pershing (50 to 50… that’s confusing!) would be awesome and a needed E-W connection.

Everything that would be on my wish list seems to already be included – most importantly fixing the south crosswalk at Shirlington, and the lampost on the 4MRT.

The Glebe Rd bridge issue was mentioned at the Alexandria bike ped master plan update meeting.
