ParticipantAnyone know if the Arlington Blvd trail is still being detoured over Washington Blvd? (I haven’t been that way in about two weeks). Wondering if I should just take dasgeh’s awesome solution of going up Pershing to Fillmore and then the little neighborhood trail back down to Wash Blvd.

Alexandria’s resurfacing craze has hit Eisenhower Ave. I didn’t bother trying to ride across that this evening. Just walked the bike.

Much improved as of yesterday evening. Nice and smooth, but there’s line painting to be done, so be on the lookout for the painting equipment/workers.
Cameron St. near King ST. looks practically done – new bike lane painted in and all.

Participant(Arlington, VA) – At the W&OD Trail crossing of Columbia Pike at Four Mile Run Dr, the Leading Pedestrian Interval for trail traffic has been removed. Drivers turning right off Four Mile Run Dr across the trail do not have a sign saying that they need to yield to trail users (right-on-red is allowed here, too).
Is there a reason from Arlington County why the decision was made to make this intersection more dangerous? (and yes, I know this is a loaded question)

Hmmm. Maybe related to the gas line project on Columbia Pike?

ParticipantSomething I’ve been meaning to ask about for a long time, does anyone know who might be responsible for fixing the utility trench that was dug along the sidewalk where the W&OD crosses Lee Hwy near East Falls Church? I’m talking about the section of pavement between the trail and the big curb cut which is probably supposed to be the back driveway to the CarsUSA lot. The trench can actually be seen on Google Maps. I use this bit of trail because of my odd proclivity to take Westmoreland to go to and from Banneker Park. The trench is 6-8 inches wide and maybe 2 inches deep with very sharp edges, so taking it at speed is not a good idea (not that there are a lot of opportunities to go through there with any speed). There is asphalt at the bottom of the trench, but but it was a real $#!+ job of repair.

Trail Report: NW Branch Closed Between West Hyattsville Metro and Chillum Park, Bridge is Out. No Detour Signs. I Do Not Recommend Going Around at Chillum Road, Awkward Crosswalk, No Light. Vehicle Got Rear Ended After Stopping for Me.

Verified. Bridge on NW branch shortly before Sligo takeoff is closed due to structural concerns. Me thinks it might be closed for sometime
