Someone moved the barrels a bit so you can sneak through the curb cut in front of the driveway.

Every single morning I have been tempted to ride through the tape, and every single morning I’ve either chickened out or had what’s left of my better nature prevail. What’s surprising to me is that no one else has done it.

The barrels and tape were back yesterday afternoon; this morning around 6:30, the tape was broken again but the barrels remained. The whole process is slightly amusing.

Yesterday I road the length of the W&OD for the first time this year.. I was happy to see that work is well underway to the eliminate the crossing at Belmont Ridge Road.

G St SW between 9th St SW and 6th St SW has been ground down (right by the Case/Stinky Fish bridge). Looks like they’ll be grinding the rest down soon before repaving.

It’s not only super rough pavement and lots of gravel per the normal grinding down work, but it’s a bit of a frogger game trying to navigate between a bunch of ridiculously deep and massive potholes, high up manhole covers, and work vehicles and people who aren’t looking where they’re going. I took the sidewalk for one block to avoid the worst of it.

Hopefully it’s repaved quick.

Erin and I were down there yesterday afternoon fixing the Bikeometer around 5:30 and actually witnessed a gentleman on a bicycle ride through and break the tape!

Near King St. Metro, tere was ongoing resurfacing of Cameron St. near the intersection with Buchanan St and the access to the connector trail to Braddock Metro. Heavy machinery rolling around, that I had to kind of ride around. Hopefully they’re done by this evening.

I should check up on what’s going on with Eads – might go the Eads-Commonwealth route instead this evening.

The barrels were back in place and all of the tape restored by afternoon commute time yesterday (and remained so this morning) :p. I suppose this will remain a cat-and-mouse game until the work is complete.
