Thanks to acc for inspiring me to write it, and Mark Blacknell for the photo (and who gets a photo credit).

LIZ!!!!! You hit it out of the park!!! What a great article!! You hit all the perfect notes. Thanks for your advocacy. You’re almost tolerable to ride with.
Wow! I had no idea. You are such a strong rider, I assumed it was always so. Great article! You do so much to encourage and help others to become cyclists, in so many ways, as a cycling instructor, at your workplace, the scout troop, this article, and probably in ways I don’t know about. Thanks.
No wonder you were such a great Freezing Saddles team captain – you are just a natural born ass-kicker. Cancer’s ass was just another thing on the list.
Seriously – that article was mega-inspiring. I posted it on fb and I really hope it takes off. You did an unbelievable job of synthesizing the joy and wonder of bicycle commuting.
Great essay! Thanks for sharing. I especially like the “act of defiance” of riding to the doctors and “how is it safe not to?” I might start using that one, with your permission.
I think this article will break records in the fact that it may be the first ever essay about cycling posted on a news outlet that is NOT dominated by anti-cyclist, hateful comments. It’s only been up for a day so far, but I can’t imagine anyone having something bad to say about your story.
