ParticipantI’m never going to break 80% based on commuting. I take a rest day once a week as per my agreement with the Boss. Should be good for a solid 100 miles/week though!

ParticipantThe captain’s miles are there, but the totals for the team aren’t correct.

But we are # 1
For now. Some people laid down some sick miles last year.
Looks like it sorted out:

My commute options are 25 mi one way from FFX to the Navy Yard, or take the bus to the Pentagon and ride 6.2 mi each way to the Navy Yard. I usually ride the entire 25 once or twice a week. I will need to step it up to carry my weight in this group. I will keep the # of trips and % high though.
If we don’t make it we don’t make it. Seriously, even if we do win, it’s not like any of us aren’t going to miss the awards ceremony!

ParticipantThis is DC… you never know when someone is going to get aggro or hyper competitive over something trivial.

ParticipantHow does it calculate the percentage? Percentage of what? Percentage of your commutes this week that you completed by bike?
Does it omit days you didn’t go to work? (E.g., this week I went to the office on only two days, but I bicycle commuted both days — does that equal 40% or 100%?).
If you still need a team member I will send you a message. I am hitting about 78% bike commuting so far for 2012.

ParticipantI think the percentages are taken according to (# of workdays on bike/ # of workdays listed). I can probably keep up about 120 miles/week given my new commute, plus 100%. We live in DC, might as well get hyper competitive, it is all we know….

As part of your profile I think you pick your workdays. From there, it takes the # of trips versus the # of potential workdays from your profile to get to the percentage. I think it’s going to have issues with any of us that don’t necessarily work a set in stone schedule (I have rarely used telecommute options that would skew it myself)

ParticipantYou can manually designate days that you didn’t have to go into work so that your % won’t be affected. I drove in today, but it’s because I’m taking 4 other people back home in the car.

ParticipantNearly 1000 miles in the first week — Are we showing our hand too early?
can Bike Arlington or Waba coordinate with the group health people and organize events? It would be great to go to the pike brewery but it’s a little out of the way. Should BA or WABA throw down an official gauntlet. Should Mayor Gray wager a case of half smokes to the mayor of Seattle? Should we make this official.
Also, here is an idea for team avitar:

I’m in.
I presume most teams won’t get serious about putting in their miles/days till May when the competition officially kicks off.
I love the team that came up with “Butt Monkeys”.
