All right, I’m in! After talking to Judd on our Georgetown Glow DC ride yesterday and a chance encounter with Karen on the Potomac Yard Trail today, I will be there.

Today, at lunch with my family, I told everyone I was thinking of doing Hains Point laps to start 2017, and this is how the rest of the conversation went:
My mom: “Well, you be careful with all the crazies that will be out there”
Me: “Mom, I will be biking in the middle of the night in the dark and cold. I am one of those crazies!”
My mom: (gives look of “you know it’s a bad idea” disapproval)
I then promised her I would take circuitous routes to avoid drunk drivers like I usually do around holidays/sports events.
