I think you are talking about the trail as it winds up next to the townhouses? (I think they are townhouses?)

Looking at my GPS track, the steepest part is upwards of 20%. The whole section from where the hill starts to Hunter Village Drive is 9.5%.

Yes, that is the section I was thinking of. Thanks.

The one time I rode up it, I didn’t quite make it all the way up and fell over. 😮

I would totally have made it if I’d ridden the right bike that day, though. Really, I would have! :p

When I was doing recon for the scout rides through that section, there was a snake out sunning himself in the middle of the trail there. That added some incentive to get by in a hurry.

Should be able to find it on here. I would be tempted to try that hill now to see how it compares. Tough to accurate gradient data. The most I think I’ve dealt with is 11% on Westgrove, although sometimes it claims it’s 30%, but I’m almost positive it’s 11 at it’s worst. Which by comparison to 20, would be a walk in the park.

This happened to me on the section between Pohick and Lake Pleasant Dr. The ramp up to Lake Pleasant is probably close to 25% for about 10 feet…not really a big deal, but it’s also in the shade and gets mossy, which is the perfect recipe for losing traction and falling over whilst clipped in…

It’s definitely steeper than Westgrove at its steepest. Westgrove makes me work, but I have never been in any danger of not being able to make it up. On either bike.:D
