If I’m not mistaken, that Fix Station was put there/sponsored/maintained by Big Wheel Bikes (I think) which happens to be in the strip shopping center down the stairs and to the right. maybe you could mention it to them? If it’s not their problem, at least you can pump up your tire in their shop (assuming it’s during business hours).

Alas, when the other guy and I attempted to pump up our tires there, it was at 6:00 PM on a Sunday, when Big Wheel Bikes was closed. However, a sign on the Fixtation said it was a joint project of Bethesda Urban Partnership and M-NCPPC. I therefore wrote to the general e-mail for both agencies, hoping one of them would deal with the issue. As of this morning, I got a reply from Bethesda Urban Partnership saying they would try to get it repaired as soon as possible.

If that’s the Big Wheels at Bradley, you should know that (at least last I checked) there was also a working pump at the Safeway across the street.

That’s good to know. Thanks. Sorry for the misinformation, I didn’t know who owned it. Just figured since they were right next to it, they had something to do with it.

Thanks for the info–I’ll have to check that out for next time. Fortunately, I was really just checking tire pressure, not needing to inflate my tires, so I was fine. The other guy (the one that actually lost air trying to use the pump) ended up walking his bike away from there.
